Secretary of the Interior Discusses Economic Benefits of National Parks Visits
U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar visited Cuyahoga Valley National Park on June 2 and announced several ''fee-free weekends'' this summer at National Parks. Representing the RV industry at the event was a travel trailer provided by RVIA member Airstream, a Thor Industries subsidiary.
Committee Week Brings RV Industry to Washington, D.C.
RVIA members will gather at the historic Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C. for Committee Week 2009, set for June 8-11. During the event, the association's standing committees, Executive Committee and Board of Directors will meet to develop strategies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year.
RVIA Applauds SBA Move on Floor Plan Lending
RVIA's efforts to expand the availability of credit to RV manufacturers, suppliers and dealers resulted in a key victory on an important front today when the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that, effective July 1, it will waive the floor plan lending prohibition that is currently part of its 7(a) loan guarantee program, and will guarantee dealer floor plan (DFP) loans.

Invest in America Program Looks to Add RVs
CUcorp, a subsidiary of the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) that provides products and services to credit unions nationwide, will host a meeting for RVIA-member manufacturers from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on May 21 in Elkhart, Ind., at the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum to discuss a proposal to include RVs in their Invest in America Program targeting the nation's credit unions and their members.
